Confession Session

I have a small confession to make…Don’t worry I didn't rob a bank or steal from a small child, nothing THAT serious!  When I first started blogging, I was inspired by Blair at Atlantic Pacific, to be honest I wanted to be just like HER.  I thought to myself, WOW – someone can get 17,000 followers just by posting pics of themselves? Yeah I can do that – EASY!
NEWSFLASH! Not gonna happen!  I realized witihin a few days of blogging that I had set the bar for myself WAY TOO HIGH!  I thought that somehow magically overnight I would gain 17,000 followers by posting pictures of myself, I was just setting myself up for disappointment and failure! #EPICFAIL

Reasons I’m never going to be Blair:

#1 Observe below: Blair looking all sexy and chic posing on a tree-lined Street  ----> Me looking all Like Me posing in my Living Room with a disgusting lamp and old office chair in the background, story of my life...

#2 – I’m never going to own designer clothes: Can’t afford them, never will…even if I could I would MUCH rather spend my money on something else.  I think it’s so pointless to spend $500 on a designer shirt when I can dig through the racks at Ross and buy a whole new wardrobe for the same price.

#3 – I’m not taking pictures with some high dollar fancy smanshy camera!:  I’ve got a free photographer {my friend from work, thanks Anna} and I’ve got an iPhone, THAT’S IT!

#4 – I’m not a size Negative Zero: Never will be and nor do I want to be.  It’s just not the way my body is built.
Now that I’ve realized my original dream of becoming Blair isn’t going to work out, where does that leave me and my little ol’ Blog?

I’ve been thinking…what is it that I’m good at, what do I like to blog about?  IDEA!

I’m constantly shopping trying to find the next best deal.  I HATE, let me repeat and emphasize HATE paying full price for anything.  That seriously just takes all the fun out of shopping.  So here I am digging around in the discount stores, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross looking for the next best deal.  You would be surprised to know that some of these stores actually have CURRENT FASHIONS! You just have to look for them.  No, I’m not going to be greeted with some Champs {thanks Heather, RHOC} when I walk in the front door at Ross, but I don’t care!  I already have my own personal sized mimosa mixed up in my purse and ready to go, haha!
I decided, rather than trying to be someone that I’m not, I’m going to blog about all the wonderful discounts and deals that I come across {I even go to garage sales people, they are like gold mines!}  Sure, I’m probably still going to post pictures of myself in outfits, just with the mind set of “Look what I found for only 20 Bucks!”  So, be prepared to see a lot of the same stuff I’m already posting, just with an emphasis on Bargains that I come across.
I look forward to sharing my shopping addiction BARGAINS with all of you wonderful ladies!

Have a Great Weekend Everyone! Did you change the direction of your blog after you started?

  1. You know I just started blogging and it's really hard for me not to get caught up into the numbers game and having instant success that so many people talk about. In fact, it's kind of been the opposite. I haven't wanted to tell people about it.

    1. Yeah, it's so easy to get caught up with the numbers!! I ready that someone had 25,000 views in 2 months, I'm not even close to that, but everyone is different. As long as we're having fun it doesn't matter :)

  5. Ha ha, I can put my signature under every statement of yours- I am exactly the way you are. iPhone IS my camera, my bike is in garage{which looks even more crowded than yours, lol, lots of kid's junk} and I never will be slimmer then I am now- sz 4. I think Blair works in the industry and can borrow high end designer clothes - if she'd bought everything she features she'd be broke.:))) It's nice to get inspired, but not aspired- I have realized I do not have a desire to keep up with Jones's.

    1. I'm so glad that other people feel the same way that I do - I totally agree that she must borrow MOST of her clothes and puts them on her blog for free advertising. I'm proud of finding good deals, so I'm gonna share it!

  6. I think we should be friends because I refuse to pay full price. That feeling when you get an amazing deal is wonderful. I miss T.J. Maxx, Ross, Marshall's etc. We don't have them in Alaska so unless I'm combing the clearance racks at Target, Old Navy, etc, I'm paying full price.
Each of your confessions resonated with me!
Also, my blogging direction has changed. I'm thinking I need to start getting into the fashion side of things to keep me motivated and getting dressed properly everyday.

    I'm a new follower!

    1. Too Funny - sounds like we have ALOT in common! Can't believe you don't have any of those stores in Alaska, such a shame! You can still find good deals at Target and Old Navy, it just isn't quite the same. Thanks for following!

  7. What an amazing post! I don't think I have connected to a post this much in a long time! In fact just today I was cringing at having to spend $16 on a white button down for work at H&M. Can't wait to see your future posts!

  8. Love this post! So many fashion oriented bloggers spend their time only discussing designer fashions, then post their own photos where everyday brands (Target, Old Navy, GAP, etc) without ever acknowledging that they aren't even fitting the bill on what their broadcasting. I'm with you - I have the most fun shopping when I'm getting great deals! Looking forward to your "bargain" finds!
