What motivates you? 30 Miles in 30 Days

Most of you don’t know this, but I went on a little ski trip back in February.  If you've been skiing before you know that it’s a pretty physical sport.  Walking around in the heavy ski boots, carrying your skis, skiing down the mountain… The list could go on and on…

Well, it was this little trip that made me realize how incredibly out of shape I was.  Not only that, but I had a serious sinus infection and combined with the thin air I was feeling pretty miserable the whole time.  I love skiing, but for some reason my body just kicked my butt this last trip.

So, when I got home I still wasn’t feeling motivated to do anything until I saw that Nikki was hosting a blog challenge 30 Miles in 30 Days.  At first I was hesitant to officially commit, what if I failed?? I’ve never fully committed to a fitness challenge and quite frankly I wasn’t sure if it was anything I could even do.  I commented on Nikki’s posted saying “Wow I think I might do this” then got an email from her saying “DO IT”.  It was those 2 little words that pushed me into getting fit again.

I’m happy to report that as of Sunday (Day 17 of the challenge) I broke 30 miles and am at 32 miles and going strong.  I’m pushing myself to run further and faster each time I get on the treadmill.

Here's what my workout schedule looked like:
Saturday: Ran 1 mile, run/walk next 2 = Total 3 miles
Sunday: Went to gym and I know I did the treadmill, but can't remember how far (guess it doesn't count...)
Monday: Run on treadmill / ran first 2 miles, run/walk next 3.25 = Total 5.25
Tuesday: 1 Hour Body Combat
Wednesday: 1 Hour Turbo Kickboxing

Total Miles: 32!!!

Not only am I committed to the challenge, but I’m also taking 1 hour classes, including Body Combat, Zumba and Turbo Kickboxing.  I feel better than I’ve felt in an entire year!  I’m overall just a happier person and seem to get a lot more accomplished when I’m working out even though 1 – 2 hours is taken out of my day and spent at the gym.

Since I’ve already accomplished the 30 miles I decided I want to keep myself motivated and go for 90 Miles in 90 Days.  Anyone else want to keep this challenge going??

Total Miles this week: 12.75

Total Miles Overall:  19.75 Miles

Only 10 more to go and I'm only half way through the month, I'm hoping to blow the 30 miles in 30 days goal out of the water!!!

I think the hardest part about this challenge is going to be staying motivated... I'm already trying to think of new things to keep me motivated in April!  This is what happens to me every single time I get really motivated then I just quit.  I don't want that to happen this time!!!

Unhealthy Eating & Fitness (What!?)

I have two things to talk about today and they are COMPLETE opposite of one another, so don't get mad!

First of all I'm linking up with one of my fave link-ups Pinned It Did It.  It seems like by Thursday I always have 1/2 of a project done, but not quite ready to share until next week, so I'm just going to give you a recipe!  You know I lurve a good recipe!!

Several months ago I had an "official" girls night in at my house!  Girls Night In requires a few new recipes and indulgences.  When I think of girls night in I think of wine, chocolate and delicious food!  All of my friends know me for delicious food, not necessarily healthy! It's kind of expected that I'm going to make something outrageously unhealthy!

With that, I introduce to you CANDY PIE!!!!!

Find the Recipe Here (I'm just too darn lazy to type it out and it's not my recipe anyways, so I might as well give the original girl credit!)

Okay, now that I've shared with you the most unhealthy recipe in the world, I want to share with you my new exercise regime that I've been participating in!

As you may have read earlier this week I've been participating in the 30milesin30days challenge!  Here's what I've done so far... I've been REAL SOPHISTICATED and have been keeping notes on my iPhone! Sarcasm, sarcasm.... I've done 7 miles so far and have 23 more to go.  I'm not counting any of my classes as miles because I want to officially walk/run 30 miles by the end of March!

Also, I've been trying my Bestest to eat better and I've had success so far!  Not sure how long I will be able to keep up the healthy eating, but I'm going to do my best for now... My ultimate goal is to be toned and healthy! Yes, losing weight is somewhat important to me, but I just want my clothes to fit better, so if I can accomplish that then I feel like I've succeeded!

I'm linking up with Nikki from The Pink Growl for my fitness challenge and Stephanie for Pinned It Did it!

Not only am I linking up with a few ladies, but I also have another lady that's hosting a link-up of her own Peggy at She Hath Done What She Could is hosting Thursday Target Threads, so stop by and link-up with her too!

Motivational Monday and The Bachelor

A few random topics for the bloggity post tonight!

First of all, have you heard about the 30 miles in 30 days Challenge? Okay, I hadn't heard of it either, but my girl Nikki over at The Pink Growl was blogging about it the other day and I decided to get motivated! Check out her post here.

Basically I'm going to run/walk 30 miles in the month of March, so I have 30 days to complete this challenge.  Here's what I've done so far and the ONLY reason I'm even telling you is to hold myself accountable, so if I fail you all will know about it! I want to try and embarass myself into working out, we will see if it works.

Here's what I've done so far:
  • Saturday: 1 Hour Zumba, 1 mile on the treadmill
  • Sunday: 2 mile walk/run outside
  • Monday: 4 miles at the gym ran for a solid 2.5 miles and did a walk run for the last 1.5
So far I've completed 7 miles and only have 23 more to go!! Not only do I want to do the 30in30 challenge, but I want to stat going to the gym again! Last year I was going 4 - 5 times a week and felt fantastic, every since I've stopped I have felt like a oozie loozie nasty ball of fatness. So, here's to me trying to shape up, should be an interesting ride...

Enough of the motivational crap, it's time for some Reality Dish!

The Women Tell All Reunion is on tonight!  Not my favorite episode of The Bachelor, I wish they would just cut the crap and get to the end, but they always have to drag it out.

Can you believe the Tierrarist got a full half hour on camera!! All that girl wants is attention and drama and that's what she got, I'm not even going to give her anymore attention. #Done

Other than all that drama the rest was really pathetic.  All the girls still crying over Sean... Get over it already, you're just making yourself look lamer than you already are!

Random interjection of Awkward.... WTF is this picture??? Oh and is interjection a word??

Can we talk about my favorite Bachelorette for a second?  Leslie!  This chick is HILARIOUS can someone please give her her own show or make her the next Bachelorette?? I mean seriously, she even coined the term "Tierrarist" / BRILLIANT!

Fave Quote of the Night from Ashlee! "He kinda acted like a Frat boy!"  Ashlee outs Sean and says that he told her TWICE that he didn't have feelings for the other 2 women.  Why in the world would Ashlee make this up?? I think Sean is a big ol' #LIAR! He proceeds to tell her that he has absolutely no idea what she is talking about and she just won't let it go.

BRAVO Ashlee for bringing something interesting to this episode! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

By far the bloopers were my favorite part of the whole episode! If they would just add more of this "Reality" to the show then it might actually seem a little more real and would DEFINITELY be more interesting!

If you're feeling like you need a little extra scoop of The Bachelor Reality Dish then head on over to Kaliwood's blog, she'll give you an extra dose of what you're craving!

Until next week...  Who do you think it will be?? Lindsey or Catherine???

Unfortunately I'm missing RHOBH and Vanderpump Rules for this garbage, but I will catch on those later! Next Up Teen Mom 2... I love love love this show and I just can't get enough!!

Check back tomorrow for a Guest post you WON'T wanna miss.  This girl is HI-LARIOUS, you won't wanna miss it!
