DIY Pantry Makeover

Here's my DIY Pantry Makeover, I'm pretty proud of myself!

Great weekend at the Homestead!  I'm finding that the older I get the more and more I enjoy staying at home and doing things around the house (LOSER)... I've been wanting to re-do my pantry for a couple weeks now and I FINALLY got all my materials together so I could get started.

I started at IKEA to get glass containers, then TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross and Staples...

Here's what you will need to get your pantry looking just like mine!
  • Glass Containers, I bought most of mine at IKEA
  • Self-Adhesive Shelf Liner, mine is Laura Ashley from Marshalls
  • Martha Stewart Chalkboard Labels
  • Chalk
  • Baskets to hold miscellaneous items such as snacks, etc...
  • Scissors and Tape Measure
  • A Whole Lotta Patience
Step 1: Get EVERYTHING out of your Pantry.  As you can see mine was an absolute DISASTER.  I wouldn't even show you this Before picture if the after wasn't so great!  This is just plain embarassing!

Step 2: Wipe down all of your shelves and start measuring.  This is a very important step, apparently when I see 7 1/2 inches I like to round it to 8 inches and that DOESN'T work.  I almost gave up after my first cutting attempt failed.  I finally got the hang of it and started installing the paper.

Step 3: Figure out what Items you would like to put into your containers
  • Pasta
  • Sugar
  • Flour
  • Oats
  • Cereal
  • Tea/Coffee
  • You get the idea!
Step 4:  Start putting everything into your new Pantry!

Let me know if you have any questions about my Pantry Makeover.  What do you think?

How was your weekend?

  1. Your pantry looks amazing! I love the labeled jars. What a great makeover. My husband hates disorder and I'm the most disorderly person I know, so he would love me forever if I did something like this.. :) Thanks for the inspiration!
